The past present future

I have been thinking about what this year will bring since before it started; what did I then know of the coming tidings.

Though, already now I have presented a important point: I have thought about the happenings of this year before it started - just as I this year have to think about what the future will bring, before the future is present.

The tidings have been dark: as I have said for years, the world will change, the western culture will fall. And I strongly believe that will be past before I have found my final rest.

Present actualities change the future we are to live in.

Economic development in the last month suggest that economical power will move towards Asia, where China, India, Russia and Saudi-Arabia is flourishing while the US suffer economical recession.

So, while I doubt we will see the end of the world, we will see the end of the world as we know it. Ideology will change. The only reason democracy has been considered the more successful system of governing, is due to economical growth in democracies. Now remember, the foundation for this growth was lain in periods of feudalism and the following imperialism. Without those two eras of European history, Europe, and thus America, would never have been able to flourish in the manner it has.

Now the tables are changing, we're losing the upper hand. Though I believe Europe will keep a strong positions, though not through the Union. Europe have other strengths, among them rich lands. Though a change in climate could of course change this...

The world is in revolution, once more our civilisation changes drastically: though this time mother nature seems to be poking in our situation.

Not to seem superstitious: though, people in several cultures have foreseen our age as a time of drastical change. And it may be true, couldn't it? Never have we been so many, in such a small world.

Climate is changing - and to any disbelievers, I see the change everyday. The weather hasn't been what it should be: less snow, more sun... Things are getting warmer, the consequences are still unknown to us.

However, I do believe that the world need a sort of balance, and I believe mankind is no master in balancing its actions - nor that we ever will be. Yet, I have to believe our society is in a time of change, as our current situation despises me.

We need to solve the great challenge as I see it: continue the essence of humanism into a age of individual recognition. Whom will redeem us?
